How the main ending is decided

The three main Silent Hill: Townfall endings aren't picked with a final A/B choice. The game compares your Discoveries — the clues and documents you pick up — with the number of enemies you kill:

• More Discoveries than kills → Justice or Forever, depending on the size of the gap.
• More kills than Discoveries → Abandoned.

Launch-week guides don't agree on exact thresholds yet:

• GameRant: Justice needs at least 20 more Discoveries than kills, Forever about 5 more, and going over 60 kills guarantees Abandoned.
• PowerPyx: Justice still triggered with upwards of 50 kills when they had around 80 Discoveries.

Safe approach for Justice: pick up every clue and document, use stealth instead of fighting where you can, and keep your kill count well under 60.

Silent Hill Townfall endings calculator

The game has no ending meter while you play. Tap + each time you pick up a clue or document or kill an enemy, and the calculator shows which ending you're heading for. There are 85 clues and documents in one playthrough.

Justice (good ending)

• Requirement: clearly more Discoveries than kills.
• Trophy: For St. Amelia.

Forever (normal ending)

• Requirement: only slightly more Discoveries than kills.
• Trophy: Here To Stay.

Abandoned (bad ending)

• Requirement: more kills than Discoveries. Over 60 kills reportedly guarantees it.
• Trophy: Just Making Things Worse.

Dog ending (New Game Plus)

In New Game Plus, three coins appear. Put each one in a dog-shaped collection box ("Guide Dog") around town:

1. Bronze coin — Part 1 (at Video Star, per GameRant).
2. Silver coin — Part 4 (in a shed).
3. Gold coin — Part 6 (in Room 793).

With all three placed, the Dog ending plays after the final boss instead of your normal ending.

Sci-fi ending (New Game Plus)

In New Game Plus, inspect three Strange Books:

1. Part 1 — under Zoe's bedside table.
2. Part 4 — in the Hospice Store.
3. Part 6 — in Room 621.

Then solve the door puzzle to get the Strange Access Card and use it at the keypad before the final boss in Part 6. The Sci-fi ending starts right after the next cutscene, skipping the final boss.

• Trophy: Sci-fi-lent Hill.

Getting every ending

After your first playthrough, PowerPyx reports you can set up four endings in a single New Game Plus run with careful manual saves. Aim for Justice on your first run — collecting everything also helps with the time to 100%.
